Biographical
John began his career as a trial lawyer in 1978 and has been a mediator and arbitrator for over 25 years. An experienced trial lawyer for both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of negligence claims and commercial disputes, he now applies his knowledge to alternative dispute resolution.
As a mediator, John has handled a wide range of complex civil matters including: civil rights; commercial; construction; employment; environmental; hospital alliance matters; insurance; medical malpractice, and; personal injury (including TBI and catastrophic injury). His experience also includes the mediation of “priest cases,” “prison guard cases,” and other types of sexual assault.
Since 2005, John has served at the University of New Hampshire School of Law. He is a Professor of Law and Director of the Daniel Webster Scholar Honors Program – a nationally acclaimed, award-winning, first in the nation alternative bar licensing program. He teaches various litigation and practice-related courses, including evidence, pretrial advocacy, negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, and client-counseling. He is the lead author of Alternative Dispute Resolution, which is part of the LexisNexis Skills & Values book series.
